Authorities are warning the public to be extra vigilant in the wake of several recent burglaries in Flagler County with possible ties to Volusia, Sumter and St. Johns counties.

In the burglaries, suspects park a higher-end vehicle in the driveway of homes believed to be unoccupied to make it seem like they belong there, deputies said.

Three burglaries and one attempted burglary took place Nov. 6 in several areas of Palm Coast, including the B-section, C-section and near Palm Harbor Golf Course.

The incidents happened between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

In each case, the suspects were described as males who knocked on the door checking to see if anyone was home. When a resident answered, the suspects asked for directions or inquired about neighbors.

Flagler County investigators said similar crimes have been committed in Volusia, St. Johns and Sumter counties.
