A person has been taken into custody following an armed robbery at a McDonald's in Volusia County, but deputies said they are still looking for a second suspect.

The robbers broke through the glass doors in the front of the fast food restaurant located on Williamsburg Place at about 4:45 a.m., deputies said.

Marion County deputies tracked the suspects into Volusia County because they were believed to be connected to crimes committed in Marion County.

Both suspects were armed — one with a gun, the other with a hammer.

The McDonald's wasn't open for business, but three employees were inside when the robbers busted through the door.

Both suspects had their faces concealed and ordered the workers not to move. None of the employees were injured during the robbery, deputies said.

Employees said the suspects were in and out of the store within a few seconds and were last seen on foot in the parking lot.

The suspects got into a getaway vehicle and sped off, making their way into the nearby Trails West subdivision.

Volusia County deputies located the vehicle and took the driver into custody around 5:52 a.m.

The passenger, however, bailed out of the vehicle and managed to get away.

The search for the second suspect is ongoing, deputies said.
