Here's what you need to know for Central Florida's weather for the rest of the week:

  • Rain chances at 30 percent for Thursday, 40 percent for Friday
  • Rain chances drop Sunday
  • Temperatures also drop slightly on Sunday
  • Joaquin now a post-tropical cyclone

Overnight, aside from a few coastal raindrops, we will remain dry under a partly cloudy sky.  Temperatures will fall comfortably in the mid to upper 60s.

We will be stuck between high pressure to the north and a weak front just to our south on Thursday. That will give us a 30-40% chance of showers, mostly in our southern counties. Our next front arrives late Saturday. That gives us a better chance of showers and a few spotty storms to start the holiday weekend, but drier air moves in for Sunday and Columbus DayHighs will be in the upper 80s, then drop into the low to mid 80s Sunday into early next week.

In the tropics, Joaquin is now a post-tropical storm as it races east in the north Atlantic however. No tropical formation is expected over the next 5 days.
