A boil water notice in Seminole County affects the entire Northwest service area.

The advisory was issued Saturday morning. The county said there was a temporary pressure reduction at the Markham Water Treatment Plant. Crews are taking bacteriological samples now.

The Northwest Service area is almost entirely west of I-4, with a small section of Sanford east of I-4 at State Road 46. The service area extends south along the county line almost to Wekiva Springs Road. It then curves up to just south of Lake Mary Boulevard.

The county is asking residents to boil all water for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. The water should be at a roiling boil for one minute before using.

The notice will remain in effect until further notice.

Residents with questions can call Seminole County Environmental Services at 407-665-2110 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or 407-665-2767 for all other hours.
