It took crews more than 11 hours to clean up after a FedEx truck trailer fell off I-4 onto Central Florida Parkway late Monday in Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 11:48 p.m. along eastbound I-4 (mile marker 71). The FedEx truck with double trailers was traveling on I-4 in the middle inside lane.

Elba Garcia Martinez, 55, of Orlando, was traveling in the middle outside lane in a Toyota Camry.

The driver of the FedEx truck, 45-year-old Salvatore Anzelone, of Palmetto, made an improper lane change by steering the tractor-trailer into the middle outside lane, which was occupied by Martinez's Camry, troopers said.

Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Kim Montes said speed wasn't a factor and the Camry was in Anzelone's blind spot.

The FedEx truck swerved and then Anzelone over-corrected, troopers said. The truck hit the guardrail and flipped over. The cab to the tractor-trailer flew into the grassy median and the rest of the haul crashed onto the roadway below the overpass.

Anzelone suffered minor injuries, troopers said. Martinez wasn't injured.

Jim Masilak, a spokesman for FedEx, said the company is still gathering information about Monday night's crash.

"Our first concern is for the well-being of the driver and anyone else who may have been involved in last night's accident in Central Florida," Masilak said in an email. "We are cooperating with authorities on the scene, and we have processes in place to retrieve packages and contact customers."

Debris from the collision struck two vehicles that were traveling west on I-4 and caused minor damage, troopers said.

Anzelone was ticketed for improper lane change. Florida Department of Transportation officials said a temporary barrier will need to be placed on the bridge's shoulder. A permanent fix may take place later in the week after the site is inspected.
