An elementary school cafeteria worker in Kissimmee was arrested Thursday after police said he inappropriately touched students.

Kissimmee Police said a 9-year-old girl told her mother that a cafeteria worker, whom she identified as "Mr. C," had touched her inappropriately when he gave her a hug. The victim also told investigators she had also seen him inappropriately touch one of her friends.

"Mr. C," later identified as Jonathan Caraballo, worked part-time in the Highlands Elementary School cafeteria.

Caraballo, 30, was denied bond Friday during his first court appearance. An Osceola County judge also ordered Caraballo to have no contact with any of the victims, or any other child under 18 years old.

Detectives notified the Florida Department of Children and Families, who interviewed the victims.

"I'm shocked, I'm disgusted," said Marisol Vanfossan, who has two daughters attending Highlands Elementary School. "You know, you send your kids to school thinking they are going to be safe."

Stacie Miller, a spokeswoman with the Kissimmee Police Department, said there could be more victims.

Caraballo was taken in for questioning, and investigators said he cooperated with them.

Caraballo's job at the school wasn't the only place he worked closely with children, either. He also worked part-time with the city of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department at the Oak Street Community Center.

Carlos Rosario said he brings his children to the Oak Street Community Center daily.

"I'm concerned even though I'm not shocked or surprised because you never know when these things (are) going to be happening," Rosario said.

Caraballo is no longer employed at the school or with the city, officials said.

He was locked up in the Osceola County Jail on charges of lewd molestation and two counts of battery on a child.

Police said they believe there could be other victims and are asking them to contact the Kissimmee Police Department's Major Crimes Unit at 407-846-3333.
