A Wisconsin man convicted in the 2000 murders of a Sumter County mother and daughter will remain on death row.

The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday rejected Bill Marquardt's appeal to have his murder convictions overturned.

Marquardt was sentenced to death for killing Margarita Ruiz, 72, and her daughter, 42-year-old Esperanza Wells.

Two children were also in the house, but they survived.
