The search is on for a man who robbed a Publix employee late Wednesday night in Flagler County, deputies said.

The victim told detectives that around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, an unidentified man entered the Publix store located at 800 Belle Terre Parkway, in Palm Coast, and demanded money. The victim said the man was not making coherent statements, gave her a yellow plastic bag and told her to give him everything in the cash register.

The victim also stated she believed the man was armed, but she didn't actually see a weapon, deputies said.

The man quickly left the store and is believed to have driven away in a silver-colored sedan. The suspect is described to be 5-feet-7 with a small frame and between 20-30 years old. The suspect was last seen wearing a tan Carhartt-style work jacket with a gray hoodie, blue jeans and black tennis shoes with a white stripe.
