An 85-year-old man is dead, killed in a golf cart accident in Sumter County.
It happened just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morse Boulevard and Fuentez Avenue.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Francis Hughes, of Lady Lake, was traveling southbound on Morse Boulevard when he attempted to make a left turn and turned in the path of a Toyota Sienna.
The Toyota struck the passenger side of the golf cart and Hughes was ejected.
He was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital where he later died. The Sienna’s two occupants were not injured.
