Governor Rick Scott campaigns on the hard hit Space Coast, promising to bring more jobs to businesses like Harris Corporation, if he’s re-elected.

It’s day five of Governor Scott’s campaign bus tour, spreading the word about his plan to cut taxes by an additional $1billion in two years if he’s re-elected.

Scott traveled with members of the Florida Cabinet and Congressman Bill Posey, stopping at Harris Corporation in Melbourne.

Scott told supporters that he’s hoping to create more jobs in Brevard County, which has slowly rebounded since the retirement of the space shuttle.

“President Obama really had a devastating impact on this part of the state, and then Charlie Crist did nothing to try and bring it back. We’ve invested over a $100 million in projects in this area,” said Gov. Scott.

Crist was part of an event in South Florida on Friday where former President Bill Clinton announced his support for the Democratic candidate.

Scott highlighted jobs created at Melbourne businesses, like Northrup Gruman and Embraer when he addressed the media.

After a visit to a Titusville business Friday afternoon, Scott will be back on the campaign trail Saturday in Lakeland.
