An Ocala man remains in the Marion County Jail after police said he misused the 911 system.

Adam Lanquist, 34, was arrested Tuesday night on the 1600 block of Northwest 2nd Avenue.

Police said he called 911 multiple times and cursed at dispatchers, demanding his girlfriend be arrested immediately. He also said he would sue officers and complain to their supervisors if she was not arrested.

When police arrived, they instructed Lanquist on the proper use for 911 and to call if there was a real emergency.

The girlfriend, whose name was released, was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the jail.

Police said he then called 911 again to tell dispatchers his girlfriend needed to go to The Vines Hospital and not jail. They also said he cursed at them and asked for a ride to a convenience store for a drink.

Lanquist was arrested and booked on $500 bond.
