Flood Warnings have been issued along the Little Wekiva River in western Seminole County, and Flagler County was under a Flash Flood Warning for several hours today, with a Flood Warning extended through noon on Saturday.

Palm Coast residents are dealing with several streets being flooded, and some neighborhoods are even under water.

Right now, we're told at least 15 homes have been flooded and that number is expected to rise, but so far, no evacuations have been ordered.

About a foot of water is still covering the road way along Wood Haven Drive, while it is slowly going down, officials told News 13 the road was closed for hours after heavy rains made it unsafe to drive on.

“I’ve never seen the streets this flooded in my life,” said Dawn Lawery.

And neither have most of the people we spoke to who live in Palm Coast.

The national weather service is saying about six inches of rainfall fell on Palm Coast this afternoon.

Several roads were blocked this afternoon and some people were even stranded in their homes.

While some were stranded others, like Gavin Dean, who was just trying to get home from school had to be a bit creative.

“I got off the bus stop and I started carrying three kids down that way,” said Gavin Dean.

Some residents even opted for a more flood-friendly way of travel and used a canoe.

“It was hysterical kids were even floating on floats down the street,” said Jeff Killpatrick

Despite the fun, the fire department and police were making sure everyone knew that flooded roadways can be a serious situation.

They don’t encourage anyone to drive through what may even look like a large puddle on the road because you don’t know how deep it is or what else might be going on.

The national weather service has issued a flood warning for this area for the rest of the weekend.
