Seminole County deputies have confirmed a child was ejected from a vehicle in a crash on I-4 East near exit 98 for Lake Mary Boulevard.

At last check, the child was conscious and breathing, but in serious condition.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and says 40-year-old Alicia Timothy was traveleing westbound on I-4 when she lost control of the vehicle.

Troopers say Timothy's Ford SUV traveled into the median and overturned. A child estimated to be a year old was ejected from the vehicle.

While there was a a car seat present in the vehicle, investigators do not believe the child was properly secured.

Two eastbound lanes are blocked at exit 98, and traffic is backed up with heavy delays. There has been no estimated time frame provided for when those lanes will reopen.
