One man was killed Saturday in a deputy-involved shooting that happened in Volusia County, and authorities aren't releasing the specific series of events due to the ongoing investigation into the incident.

Officials say deputies were in the area for an unrelated call when they heard a verbal altercation taking place outside of a Daytona Beach towing company.

When deputies responded and made contact with the confrontational man, a deputy noticed the man was armed with gun, and perceived a threat. According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, that's when the deputy fired his service weapon, killing the man.

The Daytona Beach Police said the man was involved at another incident just a day earlier on Friday at the same towing company.

The suspect has been identified as Edward P. Miller, 52, Port Orange.
