The Groveland Police Department is asking for the public's help for information as they continue to investigate the murder of a 1-year-old boy earlier this year in Lake County.

The boy, Carter Goodwin, was ruled dead after officers responded to a home on Whooping Drive, in the Crane's Landing Subdivision, around 4:15 a.m. Feb. 21, 2014.

Upon arrival, medical personnel pronounced the child dead. Investigation by the Medical Examiner's Office ruled the boy's death a homicide.

Detectives with the Groveland Police Department said they need assistance as they investigate the death.
