Police are looking for the person who phoned in a prank that caused a lockdown at the Florida Institute of Technology.

FIT officials called the Melbourne Police Department around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to alert authorities of a "threat on campus," located at 150 W. University Blvd.

After investigating, police said the threat was a prank call known as Swatting, where the caller uses an app or Internet program to block the caller ID.

The lockdown lasted about an hour.
