There are smash and grabs which affect the store owner and employees. Then there are smash and grabs which affect a community, like the White Lion thrift store in Deltona. The store provides victims of domestic violence with anything from clothing to appliances.

This is the second time the Volusia County store was targeted in three months.

"Again they took our register, and again they took our donations jar, and again they ran through the jewelry and took what looked shiny," said manager Darrell Linden.

Linden said thieves broke the front door window around 7 a.m. Thursday and ransacked the inside of the store.

Volusia County deputies were called. They dusted for finger prints and are now looking for suspects.

Linden said the thrift shop helps domestic violence victims come to terms with being victimized and to realize life goes on, a lesson they are putting into practice.

He said funds which go to help victims now have to go into buying a new door, a new cash register and other lost items.

The manager wants to remind thieves one in three women could be a domestic violence victim. Linden said these acts could hinder their ability to help possibly family of those same thieves.

"And when that person comes to us, we're gonna help in whatever way we can. You take from us and the bottom line is gonna be this, we're not gonna be able to help like we could," said Linden.
