Construction on the I-4 Ultimate Improvement Project is slated to get underway in a matter of months; which is actually right on schedule.
FDOT has posted on the project's website that work is anticipated to begin early next year; with design work beginning in fall of 2014.
The $2.3 billion project is expected to be finished and opened to the public by 2021.
The work will span more than 21 miles from west of Kirkman Road in Orange County to east of State Road 434 in Seminole County.
