Expect a showdown at a meeting tonight as a beach drinking ban comes up for discussion in Brevard County.

The Cocoa Beach City Commission will host a workshop about how to stop rowdy behavior at one of the city’s most popular beaches.

The city manager has suggested a drinking ban, due to the number of complaints about disorderly conduct at the beach at the end of the Minutemen Causeway.

Commissioners will also consider restricting Styrofoam coolers on the beach.

The workshop gets underway at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 2 S. Orlando Ave.
