More details are being released about the woman at the center of a bizarre love triangle murder and her pending divorce with the former mayor of Indialantic.

Shelia Graham Trott is charged with killing Kelly Brennan in 2010. Prosecutors say Brennan is a friend who was having an affair with Trott's estranged husband.

Attorneys wanted to get a profanity-laced voicemail played for the jury, one where the defense said the victim's husband called the former mayor and ripped into him about the affair.

The voicemail was played outside the presence of the jury.

The defense said the caller was Gino Rallo, Kelly Brannan's husband, who found out about the affair and confronted his wife with Daniel Trott at his apartment.

Rallo then attacked trot, according to testimony.

The defense wanted to establish that Rallo had motive to kill his wife, Kelly. But the judge ruled the voicemail was irrelevant, stating it didn't prove he intended to hurt her.

The defense also brought in Trott’s divorce attorney, Elizabeth McHugh, who testified they were set for mediation on Feb. 17, 2010.

Brennan was killed two days before that date.

Under questioning, she told the court Trott had told her had had no problem with Brennan dating her husband even as they were in the divorce process.

"She knew Dan was dating her, that they've been friends for 20 years, they were in a running club together and that she didn't have a problem with the relationship," McHugh said. "Like I said, she was glad it was Kelly because she knew Kelly would be good to her boys."
