A judge has set a $10,000 bond for the Volusia County man who allegedly attacked one of his neighbors with a machete.
Police said 42-year-old Alexis Quintero attacked 25-year-old Luis Castro on the 1600 block of Espanola Avenue around 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29.
Castro suffered cuts to his neck and both his arms while trying to protect himself, police said..
Quintero fled the scene, but was arrested Sunday when Ormond Beach police spotted the car he was driving.
He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and causing bodily harm.
Castro remains in stable condition at Halifax Health Medical Center, according to Maria Martinez, who resides with the victim and his family.
