Right now, Deputies continue to search for the person or people responsible for killing two men in an usually quiet East Orange County community.

The shootings happened Friday night off Bancroft Boulevard in the Wedgefield Community.

People in the usually quiet community have rattled nerves tonight as investigators continue to look into what led to two men being shot and killed.

Deputies say they responded to an emergency call about 8 p.m. Friday, after the two men were shot in the chest at a home off Bankcroft Boulevard.

Crime scene investigators stayed on the scene for nearly 20 hours, continuing to collect evidence Saturday afternoon in and around the barn in the back of the property where the shooting happened.

Investigators are still looking for what sparked the shooting.

Deputies do say the family who lives in the home on the property, knew the two men who were shot and killed.

Neighbors we talked to did not want to talk on camera, but one of them told me that at least one man lived in the horse barn where the shooting happened. He says he would often hear loud music coming from that barn, but never noticed anything overly unusual.

Another neighbor was willing to speak to us.

"Complete shock,” said Isaac Lang, a nearby resident. “This is something that does not happen here at all. We've been out here for a while and the fact that two people are dead really has me shocked right now."

Investigators say people who live in the Wedgefield Community should not be concerned for their safety, since this appears to be an isolated incident.

“Fairly certain that everyone in that home does know each other, so it’s possible, more than likely that someone that is known to each other,” said Jeff Williamson, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for the shooter or shooters.

They believe this was an isolated incident, so neighbors should not be afraid.
