A Volusia County judge has ordered a teenager who was beaten unconscious after a father reportedly caught him sexually abusing his 11-year-old son to undergo HIV testing.
Raymond Frolander pleaded not guilty Thursday to sexual battery on a child, despite Daytona Beach police saying Frolander, 18, had stated "I'm guilty," during a recorded interview following the July 18 arrest.
The victim's father said he requested the HIV test because he wants to know if Frolander passed on something to his son.
Daytona Beach police said the father walked in on Frolander sexually battering his son. The father told investigators he took physical action toward Frolander to prevent him from leaving the scene before authorities could arrive.
When police did arrive, they found Frolander lying on the living room floor, bloodied and bruised.
Frolander was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center to be treated for his bruises, and later booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond.
The victim's father was not charged with a crime. He said Thursday that his son was doing well.
According to a police report, the 11-year-old victim told investigators Frolander had been sexually abusing him since he was just 8.
