Orlando leaders released renderings of the new proposed building located along West South Street.

Pictures of the modern building show a large glass atrium and overhanging canopies.

Back in January when the project was proposed, it was estimated to cost around $43 million.

The new headquarters will actually be smaller than the current building.

Police officials say the smaller space fits with the department's new mission of locating officers in various substations throughout Orlando.

It will be able to hold about 300 people.
