Volusia County deputies are investigating what they say is numerous child pornography photos discovered in a pool at the home of recently-deceased man.

Investigators say the owner of the home, Steven Wessels, passed away on August 2, 2014. They say several individuals were helping Wessels' mother clean out the home when they discovered a large quantity of child pornography dumped into the pool of home on Humphrey Boulevard in Deltona. That person immediately notified law enforcement.

When deputies arrived, the observed several garbage bags lying at the bottom of the pool; a retrieval of one of the bags and inspection of the contents confirmed the bag was filled with numerous water soaked photographs of child pornography.

The individuals cleaning the home told police they began locating pornographic images of children inside, and outside the residence as well.

According to the police report, they also found bags containing children's clothing, hair ties for young girls, multiple sex toys and a smashed hard drive at the bottom of the pool.

Officials with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office say the investigation is ongoing.
