Charlie Crist's opponent, Nan Rich, is spending the day at the polls in South Florida, which is where she is from.

Rich made a stop in Miami Gardens earlier today to talk to people as they came in to vote. It was Rich's second stop of the day.

But there weren't a whole lot of people to talk to. The second stop for Rich was at the No. 1 turnout place for Democrats in Dade County, but turnout has been very low through the morning and early afternoon hours on Tuesday.

Rich is stopping at several polling places in the area today as part of one last push to reach out to people. Rich is likely the underdog in the race to become Florida's governor, and she has largely been ignored by Crist throughout the primary election campaign.

Crist refused to debate Rich, instead focusing on Gov. Rick Scott.

Rich is hoping that worked in her favor. She says she's feeling positive today. She's hoping for an upset.

"It's in the people's hands — they get to decide," Rich said. "I feel really good. I think there's been a momentum switch over the past few weeks. I think people are focusing on the issues, and that's what I've been doing: focusing on the issues."

Rich said she would endorse Crist if he were to secure the Democratic nomination. The winner of the Democratic primary will square off against one of three Republican candidates.

The polls close across the state at 7 p.m.
