Several teens are recovering after a crash in Sumter County.

It happened at 8 p.m. Sunday at U.S. Highway 301 near West Parkhill Avenue.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said a Ford Mustang, driven by 18-year-old Jolynn Rankhorn, was traveling southbound on US-301 when she lost control.

Rankhorn, of Webster, traveled into the northbound lanes and hit a Ford Ranger pickup, carrying a 17-year-old and three 18-year-olds.

The truck’s driver and a passenger were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. A third passenger was hospitalized with minor injuries, while a fourth was uninjured.

Rankhorn was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.

Charges are pending in the crash.
