The owners of the Orlando bar where a woman was shot by a stray bullet during an officer-involved shooting Tuesday are speaking out.

Vixen Bar posted this message on its Facebook page Thursday night:

"Here at Vixen in the name of all of our loyal patrons, friends and community, it is with the deepest of sympathy, that we reach out to Maria Castillo family - as they mourn her loss.

"To have an innocent life lost downtown, threatens the very core of our downtown community’s collective security. We are confident in the City of Orlando, OPD and the FDLE to investigate the issues accordingly and we will comment further as more information becomes available.

"Even the strongest of communities have moments of weakness and it is within this moment that we ask our staff, patrons and community to recognize the frailty of life and the value of love, in remembrance of Maria."

Police were called to the Downtown Orlando bar around 12:45 Tuesday morning after getting calls about an armed man.

Maria Castillo, 22, was killed by a stray bullet fired by Officer Eduardo Sanguino.

A report released Wednesday said Sanguino fired his weapon nine times.

The suspect, Kody Roach, was also shot several times, but he survived. He is still in the hospital.

The report also states Roach did not fire his weapon. In fact, the 40-caliber handgun wasn't loaded. But we have learned the gun was stolen.

Another officer, Lieutenant Frank Nuñez, was shot during the confrontation, but only spent a few hours in the hospital Tuesday.

The two officers who fired shots, Sanguino and Jeff Angel are on paid adminitrative leave, which is standard procedure after an officer-involved shooting.
