Investigators with the Ocala Police Department are searching for thieves who stole almost $50,000 worth of equipment from a local farm whose purpose is to teach young people.

Police say the thieves targeted the 4H farm in Marion County on August 17 by cutting a fence at Grace Christian School near the soccer field, and driving a vehicle up to the storage barn where the used bolt cutters to get through a heavy-duty lock.

Investigators are asking for any help from the public in locating the following stolen pieces of equipment:

  • John Deere ZTRAC riding lawn mower valued at $8,500
  • 2014 John Deere Gator Utility Truck, valued at $9,499
  • John Deere 4120 compact tractor with bucket, valued at $30,000
