New video is giving us a look at how police responded to a large block party in Orlando’s Parramore neighborhood.

Police were in full riot gear as they tried to break up the street party in late July on Randall Street.

However, residents said police used excessive force during the annual event to remember loved ones who’ve died.

But body camera video from police shows their perspective as they responded to what they called an unlawful assembly.

Police said approximately 1,000 people packed the street, playing loud music and drinking alcohol.

According to the police report, officers first used loud speakers to disperse the crowd.

Then some people threw bottles at the officers and someone fired shots.

That’s when officers put on their protective gear and deployed smoke canisters onto the street.

Police said organizers didn’t have a permit for the party, which closed down traffic on Randall Street.

Although it was a chaotic scene, there were no injuries or arrests.
