A man was caught on surveillance video stealing hundreds of dollars’ worth of men's and women’s razors in Orange County.

However, the sheriff’s office still needs helps identifying the other suspect from the July 21 incident at the Publix off Chickasaw Trail.

And with a similar, yet more daring case in Seminole County, investigators say this may be a growing trend in Central Florida.

Tyler David Myers, 31, is already in jail, accused of stuffing nearly $1,500 worth of razors down his pants in Seminole County.

Deputies said Myers stole 93 shaving razors during two different trips to the Target on 17-92 in Casselberry on July 25 and August 6.

“I haven’t heard of this many razors being stolen, so I’m not really sure what the intent is of the razors at this point," said Casselberry Police Cpl. Kristine Pamatian. "Other items we here about being sold out of the back of cars or flea markets that kind of thing but as far as razors, I haven’t had any experience with that just yet.”

Investigators said Myers bonded out of jail after his August 6 arrest, but he would be arrested again very soon.

Officers said they caught him running away from the Walmart off State Road 436 on August 15 after being accused of shoplifting razors again. This time it was nearly $500 worth for his second arrest in nine days.

Myers is facing charges in connection with three shoplifting incidents, supposedly stuffing a grand total of $1407.25 worth of razors down his pants.

He is being held without bond at the Seminole County Correctional Facility.

“Anytime you buy something off a private person, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is," Pamatian said. "We would just say be cautious in what you do and if it doesn’t sound right then contact local police and we’ll take a look at it.”
