Fire investigators are calling for help as they try to build a case in a massive arson investigation.

Steven Angle, a person of interest, was arrested Saturday, but no charges have been filed against him in connection to any of the fires.

Stephanie Simon can't forget what a home on Washington Street looked like in Thornton Park when it was set on fire in June.

"It was scary," she said. "It could have definitely caught all of the other homes on fire."

The Orlando Fire Department said Angle, 40, is a person of interest in 13 arsons that have taken place in downtown Orlando over the summer.

The State Fire Marshal's Office said Angle is also a person of interest in 14 fires in Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach and Sanford.

No charges have been filed in any of the arson cases, though.

"(Angle) is someone that we want to get information from," Orlando Fire Department District Chief Matthew Negedly said.

Angle remains in the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond. He had a warrant out of Georgia for violating his probation for a previous burglary charge.

Members of a new arson task force have tried to speak with Angle, but investigators said he has not confessed to any of the fires and now has a lawyer.

Angle was arrested inside the Maui Nix surf shop in Daytona Beach on Saturday. He ran up to the second floor and threatened to jump from the railing, but police were able to talk him down before arresting him.

"Just because Steven Angle is in custody, we have no let up," Negedly said. "Our No. 1 goal is to get this criminal brought to justice."

Angle is expected to appear before a Volusia County judge Wednesday for misdemeanor charges related to his Saturday arrest. He was arrested on charges of resisting arrest without violence and disorderly conduct.

Court officials said an extradition hearing is expected to take place within the next few days.

Angle's half-brother, Curtis Smith, was arrested for one fire in Sanford, but he's not a suspect in the other cases, officials said.

Information leading to a conviction could lead to a $11,000 reward.

Anyone with information on any of the arson cases is asked to call CrimeLine at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
