If you have to travel through downtown Orlando, or even take State Road 408 westbound from downtown, get ready for some changes because part of South Orange Avenue is closing for three weeks.

The closure will be from Saturday, July 19 through Sunday, August 10 to allow for roadway and pedestrian enhancements and to add a dedicated right turn lane as part of the upcoming Ultimate I-4 expansion project.

The digital signs in the heart of downtown are already giving drivers notice.

The closure will start from Anderson Street and stretch to South Street, along South Orange Avenue, and will also include closure of the eastbound South Street right turn lane between Boone Avenue and Orange Avenue.

This may all seem confusing, so the map provided by the city is attached for viewing.

And for Lynx riders, there won’t be any interruptions to service, but you should expect delays, and plan accordingly.
