Prosecutors say a surveillance video shows an Orange County murder suspect disposing of the weapon.
John Michael DeJesus is accused of killing his girlfriend in her Orlando home April 30.
In a surveillance video from a neighbor's house, investigators said you can see DeJesus throwing the murder weapon into a retention pond.
DeJesus initially told investigators three men broke into his house and during a robbery they killed his girlfriend in front of her children. It was a story investigators didn’t believe.
He was originally arrested and released on drug and weapons charges. On May 10, deputies rearrested him, charging him with second-degree felony murder with a firearm, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon, and third-degree grand theft with a firearm.
