A 17-year-old is dead and another teen in critical condition after a stolen car crashed and overturned in Orange County.

It happened around 10:20 p.m. Sunday on the ramp from Florida’s Turnpike to Interstate 4.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the pair carjacked the BMW in Oakland and was traveling southbound on the Turnpike at a high rate of speed.

The driver failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the car. The car overturned, ejecting both males.

They were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where David Jones, of Oakland, was pronounced dead.

Nineteen-year-old Kenneth Linton, of Winter Garden, was transported in critical condition.

Troopers said they do not know who was behind the wheel at the time.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
