If some big-shot travel site, magazine, or anything, really, is about to name "Florida's most popular tourist attraction," you'd probably think of major money-makers, like Disney, Universal or SeaWorld.

Nope.

That's because TripAdvisor.com recently came out with its Most Popular Tourist Attractions in America based on the Popularity Index, as seen in Parade Magazine. That means - using some sort of fancy algorithm - the quality, quantity, and recency of reviews written by the site's users are calculated, and Bam! -- Stetson Mansion shines brightest.

"We actually beat out Disney [and] Kennedy Space Center!" said owner JT Thompson. "We beat everything out from Key West all the way up to the tip of the state."

Thompson says guests on tours have basically been giving them 5 out of 5 "stars" since day one.

"Maybe it's the fact that Thomas Edison did the electric," he smiled. "Maybe it's the fact that the King and Queen of England at one point stayed here at the Mansion. Maybe it's Mr. Stetson and all the people that have been part of the Mansion."

Jeane Savarese was the second bride ever to get married here.

"It made me feel like I was the only bride that ever got married here," she told us. "JT and Michael [Solari] just make you feel like the prettiest princess in the world. You walk into the Mansion and the piano's playing [Pachelbel] Canon in D and it was just amazing and magical. It rained and we got married on the porch and it was still the most amazing day of my life."

On the day of our visit, a photo shoot for bridal magazines was going on outside in the Zen garden. Photographer and designer Andi Mans had only heard about the Stetson Mansion two weeks before our interview.

"It's gorgeous," Mans said. "It's something I've never seen. The details are amazing. Walking inside the Mansion, there's so much history. I think that's what I find as a wedding industry professional, you go to so many venues and a lot of them kinda man-made or made up to look like a certain era. But this is real."

And get this -- Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer (yep, doesn't even govern DeLand) just proclaimed August 24 as "Stetson Mansion Day."

So, with all of these accolades, the owners hope for new ways to get more people inside.

"With that attention, I'm hoping that it attracts bus companies and tour companies," Thompson said.

If you'd like to take a tour, you can now book it online. Tours are wildly popular over the Christmas season, and this year is expected to be huge. The theme will be inspired by Disney's animated film, "Frozen."
