A 16-year-old Orange County girl has been missing since Monday, and investigators say her mother's boyfriend has been lying to them about what he was doing since she disappeared.

Deputies say Alexandria Chery has not been seen since Monday morning, and her mother found blood in her room, along with bleach that appeared to be used to cover up the blood splatter.

She also found a pair of men's underwear that the mother's boyfriend, Sanel Saint Simon, took from the room.

Deputies arrested Saint Simon, 43, on charges of providing false information to law enforcement and attempted destruction of evidence.

Alexandria's mother said Saint Simon was the only other person at her home Monday, the last time she saw the teenager, who was in her bed around 7 a.m.

Now, deputies are trying to figure out the series of events that followed, and they're asking for the public's help.

Investigators want to talk to anyone who may have seen Saint Simon on Monday in a black Pontiac Grand Am. Deputies found the car in the Pine Hills and took it into evidence. They did not immediately say what they found inside.

Deputies said they believe Alexandria is in danger, and are worried they could be looking at an eventual homicide case.

"These are highly suspicious circumstances," Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said in a news conference Wednesday.

Anyone with information about Alexandria's whereabouts is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff's Office at 407-836-HELP (4357).
