The 65-minute window opened at 6:43 p.m., but a phase 2 lightning warning at the pad forced launch officials to push back the launch 45 minutes.

The rocket was carrying a pair of twin satellites and a micro satellite for the U.S. Air Force.

The launch, which was originally set for July 23, was delayed initially because of a problem with a ground control environmental system item.

It was then delayed three more times because of weather conditions.
