The woman involved in the now infamous sex on the square incident in The Villages is headed to court this week. And she’s getting support from someone you might not expect, her husband.

69-year-old Peggy Klemm was arrested last month after deputies said they caught her and 49-year-old David Bobilya in a state of undress at the pavilion at Lake Sumter Landing.

While it’s been the talk of the Villages, one man who had no idea how much attention the case was attracting is Peggy’s 73-year-old husband, Frank.

“My oldest son said Dad I think this went worldwide,” said Frank Klemm, Peggy Klemm's husband.

The Klemms had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary when Peggy was arrested for DUI on a golf cart. She was just four days into a 90 day probation when she was arrested for having sex on the square with another man.

Speaking for the first time about the incident, Klemm said he isn’t worried about potential embarrassment, he says he just wants his wife back home so he can get her help for what he believes is a problem with alcohol or medication.

"I believe everyone deserves a second chance, this is the first time like this anything has ever happened and I will try to help her as much as I can," he said.

He said they talk everyday on a jail phone and she’s remorseful.

His children have started a website full of supporters who want her freed.

“They know what she did and they are willing to forgive her and help us out, so until she proves me wrong I’ll stay with her 100 percent and get her the help she needs,” Frank Klemm said.

Peggy Klemm is scheduled to go before a judge on Wednesday.

The other defendant in this case, Bobilya, already pleaded no contest to the charges at his arraignment and is currently serving a six month sentence.
