30 Years in prison; that's the sentence for a Lehigh Acres man convicted on a number of crimes including attempted aggravated stalking, armed burglary and grand theft auto.

Investigators say 30-year-old Tolga Miran from Volusia County was sentenced yesterday, and the judge believed that police saved a life by catching Miran.

Prosecutors proved that Miran followed a woman from Lehigh Acres to Daytona Beach to stalk her. They believe, based on the items in his possession when he was arrested, that Miran planned on killing the woman.

Once in Daytona, Miran stole a car from a dealership, loaded it with a number of items including latex gloves, rope, duct tape and a fully-loaded handgun.

Prosecutors say they feared for the future safety of the victim and requested a life sentence, but the judge gave Miran a 30-year sentence.
