What was a rapid-moving but weak Tropical Depression Two is now simply a tropical wave.

The depression degenerated late Wednesday morning about 365 miles east-southeast of the Lesser Antilles. That's about 1,863 miles southeast of Cape Canaveral.

Elsewhere in the Atlantic Basin, there are no signs of additional tropical development expected within the next five days.

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. Interests in the Lesser Antilles should monitor the progress of this system.

Discussion and 48-hour outlook

At 11 a.m. EDT, the center of the remnants of Tropical Depression Two were located near latitude 14.0 north, longitude 56.0 west.

The remnants are moving quickly westward at 25 mph. This system should move through the Lesser Antilles this evening.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph, with higher gusts. This system should continue to weaken over the next day or so.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1,012 mb, or 29.89 inches.

Hazards affecting land

Wind: Gusty winds are possible across portions of the Windward and Leeward Islands tonight and early Thursday.
