Several businesses in Winter Park are concerned about flooding because of the daily summer storms.

Rick Kirpal’s day spa on Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park is one of several businesses that has voiced concern over the drainage issues on Fairbanks.

There's no curb in front of the plaza, and that's been causing the water from flooded drains just up the street to seep into the businesses, costing the owners money.

The Florida Department of Transportation says they will be sending out vacuum trucks to try and remove any debris in the drainage system – but business owners say the problem just gets worse.

"Every time a car drives by waves of it just bash the side of the building here, it picks up all the mulch and debris and brings it all over the place, basically," says Kirpal.

FDOT says after the vacuum trucks are brought out they may send a camera into the pipes to see if there is anything structurally that can be done to resolve the issue.
