A Florida Highway Patrol official has confirmed an ongoing criminal investigation into an FHP troop.
Details are limited right now, but FHP did tell News 13 that the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, who oversees the Florida Highway Patrol, are working with the Office of the Inspector General on investigation regarding some missing evidence within an FHP troop.
The FHP official did tell News 13 that they are working closely with the OIG on this investigation. The official also confirmed the resignation of FHP evidence custodian Eric Blackmon.
In Blackmon's resignation letter, he says "I am resigning for personal reasons and do not wish to discuss them."
