There could be an unclaimed check with your name on it.
Each year, the Orange County Clerk of Courts provides a list of people who have unclaimed checks issued by the Clerk of Courts in the course of court-related activities.
Anyone who has a claim to money held by the Orange County Clerk of Courts must contact the office before Sept. 1 to collect the money.
According to Section 116.21 of the Florida Statutes (regarding unclaimed court-related property), if a claim is not made by Sept. 1, the funds will be forfeited.
