Some Seminole County children spent part of their summer break hanging out at the Sheriff’s Office, county courthouse and even the jail.

More than two dozen middle school students took part in the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office inaugural Youth Academy.

The students received tours of the county Sheriff’s Office, courthouse and jail.

They even got SWAT team, crime lab and gun safety demonstrations.

The kids graduated from the class Friday.

The Sheriff’s Office does plan to continue the academy next year.
