Kissimmee’s General Employee Organization is providing people with a way to give back to local youth for the upcoming school year.

The school supply drive, titled “Push for Pencils”,  is sponsored by the GEO in Kissimmee with a goal to assist students in Osceola County

Donated supplies will be collected and brought to A Gift for Teaching, where teachers will be able to share them with their students.

“The City of Kissimmee’s General Employees Organization has been participating in Push for Pencils for eight years,” said GEO Chairperson Tina Phillips, “We believe every child should have the necessary supplies to be successful in the classroom and are honored to help the teachers of Osceola County stock those supplies for their students.”

The following items are needed this year:

  • pencils
  • pens
  • crayons
  • rulers
  • colored pencils
  • lined paper
  • child-friendly scissors
  • erasers
  • glue sticks
  • bottled glue
  • pencil sharpeners
  • calculators
  • transparent pencil boxes
  • pencil pouches
  • notepads
  • fabric
  • plastic grocery bags
  • poster board
  • book bags
  • arts & craft supplies

Items are being collected Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. until Friday, August 8 at the following locations:

  • Kissimmee City Hall – 101 Church Street, 1st Floor Mail Room, Kissimmee, Florida 34741
  • Kissimmee Police Department – 8 North Stewart Avenue, Kissimmee, Florida 34741
  • Kissimmee Gateway Airport – 301 North Dyer Boulevard, Suite 101, Kissimmee, Florida 34741
