Deputies are searching for an armed robber who pulled a gun on a convenience store clerk early Tuesday morning in Orange County.

The incident happened at the Circle K store located at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Central Florida Parkway. The suspect went into the store, pulled the gun on the clerk and then left with cash.

Lt. Parks Duncan, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said armed robberies can have a lasting effect on the victims.

"These guys just traumatize them," Duncan said. "Some people have to quit their jobs (because) they're so traumatized. They're threatened with their lives over a small amount of money, and it's not worth it. It's just terrible what it does to these people who work out here."

Authorities describe the suspect as a man in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, wearing sunglasses, a hoodie-style sweatshirt and a bandanna over his face.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call CrimeLine at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
