Officials are investigating multiple suspicious envelopes that were sent via mail to several Marion County locations.

In total, the packages or envelopes have been sent to 10 locations, authorities said.

Packages or envelopes were sent to Lake Weir High School, Forest High School, Westport High School, Belleview High School, Hillcrest School, Blessed Trinity School, an Elks Lodge, the Marion County Courthouse, the Marion County School Board and the Ocala Star-Banner, according to city and county officials.

No full evacuations occurred at any of the locations, according to Sgt. Angy Scroble, of the Ocala Police Department.

"(We were) able to localize and only evacuate specific areas and only if they opened the envelope," Scroble wrote in an email.

Marion County Public Schools ended the school year on June 4.

Marion County Fire Rescue and Ocala Fire Rescue personnel were working the scenes.

The substance in the package at Lake Weir High School came back negative and was a grocery product, according to Marion County officials.
