Gree, an major appliance manufacturer, as reissued a recall for a line of the company's dehumidifiers.

The recall was originally issued in late 2013 and covered 12 brands of dehumidifiers, affecting about 2.5 million units in the U.S. and 55,000 units in Canada.

More than 90 fires, and over $4 million in property damage have been reported.

This recall involves dehumidifiers from 20-70 pints with the brand names Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, GE, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima.

According to reports, the dehumidifiers can overheat, when they will start to smoke and catch fire, posing serious fire and burn hazards to consumers.

Consumers should immediately turn off and unplug the dehumidifiers and contact Gree to receive a refund.
