A man and a dog were found stabbed to death inside a Marion County apartment, deputies said.
The call came in around 1:30 p.m. Monday. Marion County Sheriff's Office detectives arrived at Greenfield Apartments located on Southeast 30th Place, in Ocala.
Deputies immediately observed a small dog first and then a man's body. The man has been identified as Mark Durham, 56, of Ocala. Both Durham and the dog were stabbed to death.
The apartment was leased to Daniel Trent, 38. Deputies interviewed Trent, and he admitted to the murder. He was booked into the Marion County Jail around 5:19 p.m. on second-degree homicide charges.
